This page is incomplete. It does not yet name the person or company operating Reverberation, a contact address, or the governing jurisdiction — and a policy without those cannot be acted on. Set operator in components/OperatorIdentityNotice.tsx to complete both policy pages.

1. What Reverberation is, and is not

Reverberation is a free, non-commercial, fan-made hobby project inspired by Old School RuneScape. It is run by volunteers for no payment of any kind.

Reverberation is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, licensed by, or connected to Jagex Limited in any way. It is not an official service. It is not operated by, on behalf of, or with the knowledge or approval of Jagex Limited. If you believed otherwise at any point, stop and read this paragraph again: no relationship of any kind exists.

Nothing you do here affects any Jagex account. Progress made here exists only here, has no value, and confers nothing anywhere else. Do not use your Jagex account credentials on this site or in this client.

2. Trademarks and intellectual property

RuneScape, Old School RuneScape, OSRS, Jagex and all associated names, logos, characters, artwork, audio, music, text, game mechanics and other content are the property of Jagex Limited and its licensors. All rights in them are reserved to their owners.

Where those names appear on this site, they are used only in their ordinary descriptive sense — to identify the game this project is inspired by and compatible with — and never as a badge of origin, endorsement or association. No claim of ownership is made over any of them, and none is implied.

The name “Reverberation” is deliberately distinct and is not presented as a Jagex product or an official world, server or service.

3. Nothing is for sale

This is not a business, and there is nothing to buy.

• No subscriptions, memberships, purchases or microtransactions.
• No donations, tips, crowdfunding, or “supporter” tiers.
• No advertising, sponsorship, affiliate links or tracking-based revenue.
• No item, rank, advantage, cosmetic, name or access is or will ever be exchanged for money or anything of value.
• No sale, rental or transfer of accounts, characters, items or currency, by anyone.

If you are ever asked to pay for anything connected to Reverberation, it is not us. Report it.

4. Requests from rights holders

If you own or represent rights in any content you believe is used here without permission — including Jagex Limited — contact the address at the top of this page. You do not need a formal notice, a lawyer, or a particular form of words.

Any request from a rights holder to remove content or cease operation will be honoured promptly and in full. We will not require a court order, we will not argue the merits as a precondition, and we will not use process as a delaying tactic. This project exists because people enjoy it, and it will stop existing the moment a rights holder asks.

A notice is most useful if it identifies the work, identifies what should be removed, gives contact details, and states that you are authorised to act. Counter-notices and questions go to the same address.

5. Your account and conduct

• One person, one account, unless the rules for a game mode say otherwise.
• Your name is permanent and cannot be changed after it is claimed.
• You are responsible for your password. Do not share it, and do not reuse a password from any other service — the same password opens both this site and your game account.
• Nobody running Reverberation will ever ask you for your password.
• You must be 13 or older to hold an account.

6. Rules of play

These will cost you an account:

• Automation. Bots, macros and scripted input.
• Exploiting. Knowingly abusing a bug rather than reporting it. Reporting one costs you nothing.
• Real-money trading. Buying or selling accounts, items or currency, in any direction, for anything of value.
• Attacking the service. Interfering with the server, the connections of other players, or this site.
• Harassment. Threats, slurs, or targeting other players.
• Impersonation. Presenting yourself as staff, or as connected to Jagex Limited.
• Uploading content you do not have the right to share, including assets belonging to Jagex Limited or any other rights holder.

7. Enforcement and appeals

Accounts that break these rules may be muted, suspended or permanently banned. Where an account is actioned you will be told which rule was broken. If you believe an action was wrong you may appeal once, to the contact address named at the top of this page, and you will get an answer.

8. No warranty

Reverberation is provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. There is no guarantee of uptime, of data retention, or that progress survives a fault. Seasons may reset progress by design; where that happens it is announced on the updates page before it takes effect.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators and volunteers accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from use of this site, the client, or the game — including lost progress, lost data, or any indirect or consequential loss. Because nothing is ever paid for, no refund, credit or compensation is possible or offered.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify the operators and volunteers against claims arising from your own breach of these terms, your conduct toward other players, or content you upload.

11. The client

The client is provided solely for connecting to this server. Its SHA-256 digest is published on the download page so you can verify that what you downloaded is what was published. Do not run a Reverberation client obtained anywhere else, and do not redistribute it.

12. Ending it

You can stop at any time and ask for your account to be deleted, as described in the privacy policy. The service may be discontinued at any time, for any reason and without notice — including immediately on a rights holder's request, as set out in section 4.

13. General

These terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction named at the top of this page. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. These terms may change; material changes are announced on the updates page.
