Play Reverberation
Download the client, sign in with your site account, and you are in. It takes about five minutes, most of which is installing Java.

Get the client
One file, and it runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. It needs Java, which is free.
Java 11 through Java 25 installed and associated with .jar files. Java 26 is not compatible; Java 21 is recommended.

Set it up
Install Java and run it
Pick your system.
Windows
- Install Java 21 if you do not have it. Adoptium's Temurin 21 build is free and is the one we test against.
- Download Reverberation.jar to a folder you will remember.
- Double-click it. If Windows opens it with an archive tool instead, right-click → Open with → Java.
macOS
- Install Java 21 if you do not have it. Choose the Temurin 21 build matching your chip — Apple silicon or Intel.
- Download Reverberation.jar.
- The first launch is blocked because the file is not notarised. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the message about Reverberation.jar, and press "Open Anyway".
Linux
- Install a Java 21 runtime from your distribution, for example openjdk-21-jre.
- Download Reverberation.jar.
- Run it with: java -jar Reverberation.jar
Log in
Log in
- Sign in with the name you claimed on this site — not your email address — and your site password. There is no separate game password to remember.
- Pick the only world on the list. It is called Reverberation.
If the game rejects a password you are sure of, your game account may still be provisioning — your account page says which it is.
It downloaded but will not start
- Nothing happens when you double-click it. Open a terminal or command prompt in the folder you saved it to and run
java -jar Reverberation.jar. The error it prints is the actual problem, and it is usually the Java version. - It opens in an archive tool. Your system has associated .jar with a zip program. Right-click the file, choose Open with, and pick Java.
- It opens and then hangs on connect. That is the world, not you — the status panel further down this page says whether it is up.
Native installers for Windows, macOS, Linux are being prepared. The file above works on all three in the meantime.
You will need an account
Free, and it takes a minute. The password you choose is also your game login.
- Create an accountAn email address and a password.

- Claim your namePermanent, so choose one you want to keep.
Where you land
Reverberation runs a single world, so there is no server to choose between and nobody is split off from anyone else. Your character, bank and progress live there. The operator calls it World 301 — Ashen Reach; in the client's world list it appears as Reverberation. Same world.
